born to a rather poor family, elizabeth was paired only with her imagination and household items to play with. though it would eventually get boring, she would enjoy her time zooming off to a distant planet in a cardboard rocket ship, or fighting off vicious pirates. as she got older, she began to lose that inventive imagination, turning into the boring square her parents had always depicted her to be. soon into her adult life, she was hired at lennox house as a receptionist. girl met phone, phone met girl, it was instant love.

imagination and excitement hides behind the thick veil of uncertainty elizabeth has placed around her. though coming off as rather dull and boring to those around her, once the ice has been broken she loosens up quite a bit and relaxes into the humorous mood of her past.

put up for adoption when he was very young, ronald hasn't really known of motherly love or fatherly devotion. he doesn't feel deprived. he feels... cheated. living at the orphanage right up until he turned eighteen, ronald hadn't known what it felt like to live in a normal home with colored wallpaper and floors and cushioned beds. he was hired at the local elementary school as a janitor, but he ended up quitting, thinking the career lacked importance. he eventually applied for a position at lennox house, where he was accepted shortly after, given the title, "orderly."

ronald is a large man and he uses that to his advantage. when dealing with the patients at lennox house, he often tries to intimidate them into doing as he says. a rather nice man when first entering the building, he has turned into a sort of monster. forcing himself on the girls, pushing around the guys, he's made more than a few of their lives miserable. the staff have taken notice of his brute ways, and have threatened him time and time again to no avail. many fear their only choice is to fire him.

lisa was admitted into the mental home at a young age, a mere sixteen. the girl had an extreme case of paranoia, thought that anyone who approached her was out to kill her, any small sounds or creaks in her house at night was a man creeping through the hallway to rape her. finally, fearing for her health, her parents took her to lennox home. she got no better there, but learned to trust people to some extent. it is where she met crystal manarez, and, much against her own will, fell in love.

not many people see past the gut-wrenching terror and anxiety lisa shows on a daily basis. they think that because she seems terrified in public, around even the smallest crowd of people, that's the only thing she feels. she shows traits of any other ordinary twenty-year-old, yearning to party hard with other ladies, lusting so hard it hurts. locked up in a place surrounded by only women, the only men being the orderlies and guards, it was no surprise to anyone when she announced she was gay. and, only when she met with crystal did she find that she was, in fact, capable of love.

crystal was admitted a long while after lisa, being eighteen. her legal guardians passing a mere weeks before her eighteenth birthday, she was left to fend for herself. wandering the streets, she had learned to live off of scraps, and sometimes not to eat at all. about a week of this drove her off the edge. she developed a sort of schizophrenia, though instead of the voice developing in her mind, she imagined inanimate objects speaking to her. trashbins, mailboxes, even buildings themselves. it was when she had finally salvaged enough money to purchase something from the store that her knife told her to kill the lady. when law enforcers arrived, they took note of her mental condition and shipped her off to lennox home.

many of the other pantients see crystal as a sort of threat, word spreading that she had murdered someone. many of the girls tried their best to keep away from her, sometimes telling her point blank to back off when she tried to speak to them. only one approached her. lisa donala. she fell in love with her at first sight, and began to feel compassion again, love for everything around her. she was actually very sweet compared to her fidgety, cold other half. when others began to see that, they started to approach the couple, only to be pushed away by lisa. crystal didn't mind. she figured if she had crystal, she had enough companionship for a lifetime.
